Reported days ago, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz announced a new project for the Chicago punk band, titled “Purple”. This title was surely fitting, as all promotion – photos, videos, such and such – used a purple tint and shades of purple.
Along with this, however, was the date of April 27th (moved up from 28th); not only is today lead vocalist Patrick Stump’s 33rd birthday, but the official Fall Out Boy accounts finally announced what the “Purple” project really is!
Fall Out Boy have confirmed that the “Purple” theme was to promote their upcoming album, titled MANIA. Exciting enough, I know, but they weren’t leaving it with an album.
The first track was also released, music video included. This song, titled “Young and Menace”, will be the first single released for the band’s new LP, which itself is expected for release on 15th September.
Were they leaving it there? No, Fall Out Boy knows how to come back – a new song, new album, AND new US tour!
I am sure with a US tour, happening near the end of the year, they will soon be announcing a few European and UK shows (I am overdue on seeing these four amazing rockers).
I will be writing and uploading a review of “Young and Menace” as soon as I can, but until then, listen to the new tune below:
